Short answer: yes, you can have mooncakes posted across Australia — but only some of them, and the ones that travel aren't always the ones people assume. We post nationwide, which still makes us a bit of a rarity, because most mooncake makers are a single-city pickup counter. Here's what survives the trip, what doesn't, and how to send a box that arrives the way it left.
What ships, and what doesn't
The dividing line is simple: baked mooncakes travel, snow skin doesn't. Traditional baked mooncakes are sealed and shelf-stable for weeks, so we post them Australia-wide — Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, the regional towns, the lot. Snow skin is chilled and perishable; it has to stay cold, so it's Melbourne pickup only. If someone's offering to post you a “snow skin” mooncake interstate, something's gone wrong in the cold chain. When in doubt: baked posts, snow skin doesn't.
Why most mooncakes online are imported — and why that's a step down
Search “mooncakes online Australia” and most of what comes back was baked overseas, loaded with sugar to survive months on a shelf and a long trip, and sealed in a tin. It travels because it's built to travel — but freshness and flavour are what you pay for that. We bake here and post fresh, which is a genuinely different product. How we send them
Baked mooncakes go out sealed and protected, packed to arrive in the condition they left. The one thing we'll nudge you on is timing: order early. The closer it gets to the festival, the busier the post and our kitchen both get.
